Dr. Kevin L. McKamey earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic at Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri in 2009 after completing a Bachelors of Science in Human Biology. He completed residency programs at Logan's Montgomery Health Center, The St. Charles Health Center, the Logan Biofreeze Sports Rehabilitation Clinic. Dr. McKamey also participated in a unique clinical residency at the Veterans Administrations Chiropractic Clinic located at the St. Louis Regional Medical Center where he cared for veterans of all ages. Completion of his education experience at Logan, culminated with earning a Master’s of Science in Sport’s Science and Rehabilitation in December, 2009. Highlights of his Master’s training include, residencies at Nutriformance in Frontenac, Missouri where he focused on athletic training and performance and Parkcrest Orthopedics of St. Louis where he participated in evaluation and treatment of sports specific injuries under the guidance of sports medicine physicians (M.D. and D.O.) specializing in sports medicine, total joint replacement, arthroscopy, fractures, knee and hip surgery, shoulder surgery and general orthopedics.
Additionally, Dr. McKamey holds certification as a Cox Flexion Distraction Practitioner, Chiropractic Wellness Specialist from the American Chiropractic Association, Internal Health Specialist from the Loomis Institute and LASER certification in Principles of Laser and Laser Therapy for Chiropractic Applications from the American Institute of Medical Laser. He also has completed advanced training and research topics in Laser therapeutics and vibration therapies. He was honored, to have been invited to speak at the annual Salisbury University Sports Medicine Symposium in 2012, where he described vibration therapies for athletic injuries. He is board certified and actively licensed in Delaware (I), Maryland and Virginia. Dr. McKamey is a member in good standing of the Maryland Chiropractic Association, American Chiropractic Association's Council on Diagnosis and Internal Disorders and actively engaged in their diplomate program having completed the required training to become board eligible. Additionally, he is a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Dr. Kevin L. McKamey brings practice experience from a broad base of care models after working as a locum tenens doctor, providing coverage for other practitioners in their offices and then in his own practice, in the rural Western mountains of North Carolina, in the community of Highlands. He joins the team at Delmarva Chiropractic after practicing on the Delmarva Peninsula since 2011.
Dr. McKamey and his wife Julie have two sons Brenden (27) and Keenan (29) who reside in the St. Louis, Missouri area. Julie is employed by Salisbury University where she is an Administrative Assistant to the School of Nursing. The McKamey’s have made their home here on the Eastern Shore and reside in Tyaskin. As a family, they have always enjoyed the outdoors; involvement with the boys in Little League baseball piqued Dr. McKamey’s early interest in sports and biomechanics. The family has spent much of their recreational time out-of-doors enjoying bicycling, swimming, fishing, hiking and exploring. He and Julie continue to enjoy kayaking, paddleboarding, bicycling, hiking, fishing and crabbing from their home on the Nanticoke River enjoying everything the Eastern Shore has to offer. Assateague Beach National Seashore and the Nanticoke River are among their favorite places to enjoy the local natural peace and beauty.
